Ron is a much loved Husband, Father, Uncle and Grandfather. He passed away at Shoreham-by-Sea, West Sussex, following a short illness.

Ron was quite strict about certain things. When Lynda and I were going out together (courting seems such an old fashioned expression but sounds more romantic), I had to ensure that Lynda was returned home at or before 11.00pm. Not unreasonable when you come to think of it as she was only 15yrs old when we started going out together.
This was his rule and we complied.
Many years later when Lynda and I had been married for a very long time Lynda went to stay with her parents during the weekdays to look after Ron, who by then had Altzheimer's. On Fridays I would go to Ron and Val's for tea, take Lynda off to dance practice in Shoreham and then return her back to Ron's house. On one occasion our dance teacher went on longer than expected and so I was late bringing Lynda back to her parent's house. Ron was standing at the back door when we arrived and he gave me quite a dressing down for bringing his daughter home late! Some rules never change!
I have great respect for proper rules and a framework to live by. Ron made rules but he also abided be his own personal code and never let us, or himself, down.

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?
Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
